The sun also rises

My rainforest escape is gone, but not forgotten. It is a delightful place and I am making plans to return again later this year. Being in a bit of a Hemingway phase, I hasten to add that just because these shots are mostly sunsets, the sun also rises.

The first two days were teaming with the tail end of the cyclonic depression that resulted in such wide-spread flooding. There is also this most delightful of mizzle that floats in over the MacPherson Ranges from the SE. The rainforest is quite deiightful drenched like this, and not in the least cold, as the clothing attests.

A couple more to show you, shot from my balcony with a glass of shiraz balancing precariously somewhere. Oh, and another thing. Remind me never to go during public holidays or even weekends during summer. The joint is jumping!

These are delightful. Each with its own voice, all harmonizing. What a terrific series this has been.

Fabulous, Julie. If we hadn't been to Hawaii last month, I'd envy you and your rainforest all to bits.
Your "mizzle" picture reminds me of Ecuador's "cloud forest" - not quite the Amazonian Rain Forest, but almost.
As for your Hemingway phase, I think a few of those are good in the life of anyone who writes.

Such magnificent landscape, and photos to do it justice. A very happy and healthy 2011 - sorry I don't get to visit blogs these days, but appreciate your dropping by. Thanks!

Watching sunset from the bar with happy hour priced cocktails, I remember that. Still got the sunset photos somewhere (film days). I'd like to get back up that way.

You have been doing some very nice sunrise/set work lately. Nothing to apologize for! The only place in Queensland I've ever been is Cairns - not bad but there is a lot more I'd like to see.

I love mountain mist but there is a big difference between it here and in Qld as you pointed out .. up there is stays warm whereas here the temperature plummets. We had fog too thick to see through yesterday and mizzle most of today ... sitting by a log fire tonight .. on the weekend it was in the 30s. Not keen on the extremes.

Amazing sunsets, is that Mt Warning?

Someone asked that on one of the walks I took and the answer was no, that Mt Warning was further to the SE of us. I think ...

Wow! That sunrise is to die for (figuratively speaking).

Reminder: Never go anywhere during public holidays or even weekends during summer.

Adore that shot of the three people in the rain. And of course the sunrises. Magnificent.
