| I see a sad procession, And I hear the sound of coming full-key'd bugles, All the channels of the city streets they're flooding, As with voices and with tears. I hear the great drums pounding, And the small drums steady whirring, And every blow of the great convulsive drums, Strikes me through and through. Walt Whitman |
Very nice closeup of the drummers hands and the drum. Whitman's poetry is very suitable for the pictures.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I took your advice and am starting my Strangers Project with my first Stranger tomorrow. Thanks for the encouragement!
Another set of musical hands beautiful executed and a very apt poetry selection. A delight.
ReplyDeleteI like the close-ups and the poetry!
ReplyDeleteYou are so good at getting hands, they always say so much.
ReplyDeleteEverything I've read says don't do b&w in camera with digital as it comes out flat, not like b&w film. I'm starting by going through some old ones to try and work out which ones would work in b&w, trying to see in b&w. Its really hard. I'm also trying to find scenes as I wander but I can't seem to find the strong lines and shadows that I want. I guess what I'm looking for is that film noir look that Valeria in Verona has been finding. Italian light is so different to ours, though.
I really like all your hands photos...they are so expressive...so much to study in them!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful poem, I prefer the first picture that is tighter
ReplyDeleteI also prefer the first picture. Great shots
ReplyDeleteI love the detail of the hands. You can feel them patiently waiting to drum.
