I can only repeat what others have said, the light reflected from the undulating water contrasted with the grain of weathered timbers is very striking.
B&W is a bit of a let down after the vibrance of the Christmas posts -- but as you know I'm a sucker for old timber and am jolly keen on water ripples too. Makes me think of the wonderful old red-gum wharf at Echuca -- clearly I'm already sighing for the holiday now over.
This is gorgeous. I love the way the rough texture of the wood plays against the smooth, reflective water. There is so much to see in such a simple subject.
Thanks for stopping by at mine, and for joining my Follow list. I am flattered.
Outstanding shot. It's really pleasing to the eye. I like the transition from light to darkness and I love the reflected light that bounced off of the water and onto the wood. It makes a great design.
The rough, aged textures of the wood against the smooth, glassy rippling of the water is wonderful. I also like the play of light and shadow in this. ~ Calico Contemplations
That's me - ageing timbers.
ReplyDeleteGreat contrast range.
A Good New Year to you, Julie.
Incidentally, Tonk was a love and very intelligent. But he talked too much - very high maintenance.

ReplyDeleteWow! Un hermoso contraste.
ReplyDeleteMore than striking, Julie. Love the timbers, just cause they're aged and so supportive, and the syrupy texture of the water.
ReplyDeleteit seems to me like a fish is going to ump out of the water any time :)

Unique subject. the vibrance of the water is still there and you captured it so well, as the fine and dark lines of the wood.

ReplyDeleteThe sea looks like luscious chocolate custard!
ReplyDeleteA neat shot with unusual viewpoint; I don't think I would have guessed the subject but for your short title.
