  2. You've captured him looking so vulnerable, so exposed, and so beautiful.

  3. You could craft quite a story from this photo. He looks full of thought, full of having done things and full of trepidation for the future. A lovely poetic capture of this man.

  5. Love the way you've caught the light on his upper torso. Wot no shoes?

  6. Is he a zebra? Your photo is black and white and he is walking across the "zebra crossing!"

  7. Ah... the light, the bold stripes make this one.

  8. Very nice monochrome Julie!!! Then again, he makes a great subject!!! But seriously...your composition, the contrast between him and the crosswalk, the light...very nice!!!

  10. Wow gorgeous, dramatic light here - makes him look statuesque. The black and white works perfectly.

  11. Very nice monochrome shot. I like the strong white lines and the man walking through the light.

  14. What a nice place it must be, being able to walk barefoot through town.

  15. Oh my. Yum. He's delicious!

Great shot - I don't think I'd like it as much in color - monochrome makes it warmer somehow.

  16. Is he in his wet bathers? We call them swimming suits. Bathers is betters.

  17. Yes, his bathers (we also call them swimmers or cossies) are dripping as much as his torso. I think he has his t-shirt scrunched up. He has his watch on but, surprisingly he does not have his car keys dangling from his other hand. The angle at which he is walking indicates to me that he is heading towards a car. Noone - noone - walks barefoot up those stairs! This was about 7am on a Sunday morning.

The coloured version is quite as delicious as this. Very warm and sensuous ...

  20. The light on his body is great, his body isn't bad either. One day I'm expecting to see my daughter or partner in one of your shots. In fact I thought that was him at first.

  21. I thought there is Marcus Aurelius crossing the road..and it will be perfect if there is a roman building as the background.

    Thanks for visiting mine ;)

  22. Brilliant shot. It's like an ad in a glossy magazine.

  23. This works well in B&W the contrast and that delicious swipe of light on his body.

  24. Caught just right for the light, great study.

  25. Beautiful capture of this man - it makes me wonder where he is going, or where he is coming from - what he is thinking. The light captures his contemplative expression, and accentuates his body so beautifully!

  26. Great light! Just enough to see what is important.

  27. The light on the side of the face, shoulder, and foot, the angle of the crosswalk lines, perfect. Nice looking fellow, too! Your photos are so amazing.

  31. The photo is technically very good, but couldn't you find a 19 year old of the opposite sex?

  32. *grin*
Then I would need to replace the lens in my own eye socket first!

  33. Mmmmn, nice. :)

What is there about monochrome that adds a magic to a photo, which might not be there otherwise. Love this shot, Julie.
