Uh! The sky color is terrible ... It seems that there comes a storm but the man that is above, perhaps jogging, it makes you think that it's over is, a hope.
You captured a fleeting moment - excellent work. And, the dramatic sky looks in B&W to maybe threaten rain - or, maybe it was blue sky with wispy clouds, but you certainly captured a dramatic mood. Lastly, The lines from the railing and the support beams are great in that they lead the eye and frame the subject.
Very complex interactions with the structured (the horizontal bridge deck, the vertical fence, and diagonal cables) and the unstructured (runner and the clouds). Bravo!
Nice choice for monochrome! I've just started converting some of my images to mono and am thinking about what makes a good b&w image. Shapes, lines, and values.
I've said before and I'll say it again, this is your new career. There's so much energy in your work, J, everything seems to be vibrating, really phenomenal.
Thanks for the comment and encouragement concerning the theme day photo. The pic is now up and you're welcome to swing by to take a peek. Happy new year and happy shooting, Alicia of Concarneau Daily Photo
I love this photo a lot. I have a weakness for structures, shapes, angles and lines. The beautiful clouds and the sun shining on the parapet completes the picture.
Gorgeous catch, Julie.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fabulous capture Julie!
ReplyDeleteLike your choice for monochrome on this excellent image, Julie.

Great shot. I like the way this looks with the runner behind the railing.

ReplyDeletei like the way the railings dramatize the whole shot. the sky too contributes to the effect

ReplyDeleteExcellent photo Julie. You captured this moment perfectly. Happy New Year. Thanks for visiting and your kind words. We are having such creative fun!
ReplyDeleteA busy picture in shades of grey with the runner grabbing your eye.
ReplyDeleteLove the strong lines and various tonalities. Impressive photo.
ReplyDeleteOh, Julie - I wish it was me you captured there - jogging on the bridge - I really need it after all the cristmasfood......
ReplyDelete...Ok - it is salad tomorrow - and a long walk with my husband and my camera ;)
Happy new ear for you and your dear ones :)
The strong lines work well in B&W ... cloudy skies everywhere at the moment ... dense fog up a Katoomba this morning.

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the tardy greetings - I'm on holidays! Far from the computer....

I like this in b/w, and with beautiful composition and all the "lines".
ReplyDeleteHe looks lonely up there among the steel and concrete. Beautiful lines and nuances of grey.
ReplyDeleteThe black and white composition, the hard lines of the bridge all captured the effort of that runner, but without words. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteHe's so small against the enormity of the architecture surrounding him - such a lonely sport indeed!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very nice shot Julie... Overwhelming the size of the bridge and the relative insignificance of the runner. It looks so over-engineereed....
ReplyDeleteOh, yes i like your picture very much. The huge bridge and the small man running.
ReplyDeleteThanks för your comment!
I like this. All the lines, the grey sky and the jogger on the bridge. Great captured!
ReplyDeleteA honey of a photo, Julie. The human up there gives it a special resonance for the likes of me.
ReplyDeleteThis is really good! One of my favorite this week:-)
ReplyDeleteWish you a Happy New Year!

Great contrasts and lines in this picture! I just wish that the runner would have been a little bit closer to the banister.
