This is a great illustration of the saying "The whole is more than the sum of its parts." Each picture by itself is nice, but the series makes them really interesting!
Actually, Bill. Look at that first shot again. Down the LH corner, there is a smudge of grey flowing from the feather into the foreground. That is a massively blurred strand of barbed wire.
Fabulous contrast. Hope the bird made it free.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. It made me think of the bird as well.

ReplyDeleteOh, Julie, a delicate, harsh, wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots Julie, but I give in: How did you get rid of the barbed wire in in the first shot?
ReplyDeleteLent over the fence! *grin* but but but ...
ReplyDeleteI do have another shot where it is only visible if you KNOW it is there.
Come up fairly close, focus on the feather and use a very very open aperture, say F4.0

ReplyDeleteI love the detail of the feather in the first shot. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteInteresting concept. I was wondering how you got the first shot, as well.
ReplyDeleteFab shots! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely shots but the title you have selected adds something special.
ReplyDeleteGood series. Good eyes too, to spot this.
ReplyDeleteSo they say, this proves it...
ReplyDeleteNice set, impressive closeup. You do set the bar rather high for the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photographed.
ReplyDeleteSure is a contrast and good photography.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous post!
