  1. I feel as though I'm writing in an old autograph book: "by hook or by crook I'll be first in this book!"

I love the greasy solidity of the water at this time of day, it aways makes me feel as though I could walk across it.

    Sensational. (Literally)

  7. That's quite striking. And, in the US it calls up images of the huge Gulf oil spill. Too sad.

  8. A beautiful ripple of the smoothest waves. And what otherworldly light!

  9. Michael, to reassure you, there is absolutely no oil on this surface. And I follow the environmental cleanup and the economic consequences of the BP disaster with much interest. I believe it will herald the end of BP as an entity. I think the world will continue to drill for oil deep under the ocean and bugger the consequences.

  12. What a stunning photo! A beautiful place.

Julie you stopped by - thanks for that. But you mentioned you couldn't enlarge my photos. I have no idea how to do that. I just upload from my camera. Any hints?
    Thanks.

  13. stunning metallic look to the water.

I hope you suceed with the raindrops this weekend. Its takes a bit of moving around the "drop" getting the right angle. You need to have some other blooms close by and be prepared for many digital photos heading to the recycle bin too. When you get a good one - crop the image. All the best :) Rosie, Centre of Interest photoblog

  14. Bev, I have responded on your blog.

Rosie, I ALWAYS end up with images in the waste bin!! But I am determined to nail this on this occasion. Shall come back to you during my Sunday evening.

  28. Superb...

I just love the texture of the water on this picture. And the harmony of the colors blue/grey and orange is very zen... I like also the rupture with the trail of the boat...
