ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my SC flag post. The southeast (and southwest)costal areas of the US are dotted with palm trees. Palmetto logs were used in the 1700's to build forts in SC and survived a British baobardment during the revolution, hence the selection as the state tree.

ReplyDeleteJoan, a theme can be a bit like a 'Riff' ... given a day to think about it can be quite exhilarating.
ReplyDeleteI am off for 6 hours on the harbour today to visit all the 'lighthouses' which I put in quotes because I suspect some will be beacons.
