Located in Walker Street, North Sydney, 'The Firehouse Hotel' is an ingenious reuse of an old building. This is happening the world over as more heritage orders are slapped onto buildings in central areas.
The internals here were gutted - including the internal 'pole', which is a shame. But it is a lovely place for a drink with an upstairs deck out the back. My lamb rissotto was delicious as was my $9 glass of Shiraz from the Clare Valley.
Like the detail shots!
ReplyDeleteI especially like all the photos of curvy bits in the middle ... a nicely selected group.
ReplyDeleteAnother fan of that middle grouping - gorgeous detail! I especially like the contrast of the ceiling fixture (fan?) against the orange-brown ceiling...
ReplyDeletealso like the furniture closeups - esp. the light on the chair.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great reuse of an old building. The old pole could have found a new use with dancers in the new hotel. ;)

ReplyDeleteVery charming indeed :-).
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of photos showing both the details and the big view of this amazing building... Why on earth would they remove the POLE??

Fajne plecionki.
ReplyDeleteSo is it just a facade now?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Julie. I love the idea of a firehouse becoming a hotel, but I sure wouldn't want the job of dusting all those "curvy bits"! LOL

I tend not to buy takeaway food - too salty and fatty.
