Dolled up and looking in her prime

She was waiting at the curbside, outside the Hughenden Boutique hotel on a fine autumn afternoon. Soaking up the attention, the admiring looks, the gentle caresses.

As soon as I saw her, I knew I must have her. But who is she? Is she a Sunbeam or a Chevvie? Or is she perchance, a Daimler? And dare I ask her age?

I must pay my respects to Steffe whose wonderful shots of a Chevvie are lodged in my brain. And then to Joe who also posted along similar lines.

  2. Hi Julie,
Those old cars are just so classy, love the reflections in the super shiny body work.
    Best wishes

  3. That's a beautiful vintage car. It must be hard to take care of such a car.

  8. I love photos of cars that focus on parts and not the entire car... i think they are beautiful.

  9. It speaks of a different age, though, slower, less ambitious. I plug my iPod into my Honda and let the navigation system tell me how long it will take to get to somewhere to which I already know the travel time. Progress?

  10. What a beauty Julie. She's loved I'm sure. What a coincidence we both posted vintage cars at the same time. Thanks so much for the mention and the link.

  12. Beautiful. The days when it was about going "motoring" and for the "Sunday drive".

  13. Yes, yes, I remember the Sunday drive, I remember it well. I wonder if that concept or habit exists nowadays?

    Thanks for reminding me ...
