The main library at the University of California Berkeley is a beaux arts building with marble staircases. The stairs are now concave, having been burnished (such a lovely word) by thousands of footsteps over the years. Like your handrail, it bears the patina of time and touch.
I like choices of simple things and the way black and white strips back even further. Because my foot is still bad so I can't walk I am thinking of digging into my archives and running a series of B&W Blue Mountains because I have neglected that blog for too long.
Beautiful black and white Julie! Have a very nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI like this, would love to see it sideways.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully moody shot of old stairs. Are they part of a building?
ReplyDeleteNope, not part of a building, Dalloway. i will see if I can work up a post about them for tomorrow. Double-busy just at the moment, but will try.

ReplyDeleteLove this image Julie, just made for B&W.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many hands it takes to burnish a handrail like that. Thought-provoking photo.
