Yep, the two lower floors in the building are for new books and a coffee shop, but my favourite is the top floor. However, I am a bit wobbly to use the ladders. I found just the book I was looking for last evening. On ebay it was $84 but in Berkelouw's it was $22.50. And in good nick ... really chuffed I am.
I would like to walk right into this photo... it's visually pulling. And a great monochrome. I can learn so much about good photography just from looking at your shots, Julie.
Library, I assume?
ReplyDeleteYou do great bw's here Julie. :D I love libraries... kind of bookish. hahaha!

ReplyDeleteIt is not a spatula, it is a cheese slicer (no= ostehøvel).
We use it on our brown cheese for cutting it in thin slices!
My kind of place...this picture has the feeling of an old friend.

ReplyDeleteI have only been to Berkelouw's in the city once. but whenever we are down the southern highlands we visit the book barn near Berrima.
There used to be a great 2nd hand bookshop in Crows Nest that tidied itself up but was still nice ... I wonder if it is still there.
Tyrrells ... Well when I google I find it is not called Tyrrells at all. That is just the building it is in. You can find it here
