Julie, how perfect. I love love this photograph. Such a sensitive shot of a moment, the confidence of the child in the father and those curls and that adorable sweep of nose and great big eyes. Fabulous! Melting.
Such a beautiful child, absorbed in the music, securely perched on his father's shoulder. With wings he could be a cherub. The curly hair is wonderful. This one is better in black and white. Color would be a distraction.
What a beautiful image in Black and white. Monochrome images have something more than colour. Light, expression and the tale that the image tells us are more important.
Lucy, I think once the curls are gone he will look just as solid and chunky as his father. He is the oldest of three brothers! My guess is that his father is from a northern Italian background and his mother is a long-haired blonde from an anglo-saxon heritage. A very handsome family. He will feature again tomorrow but in colour.
Julie, I hate to give away my photo secrets, but I totally GOT LUCKY on the people and lake in the eyewear photo. The guys were ready to take off and I turned and snapped the photo in Lee's face. I couldn't tell what I was getting. The wind was blowing my hair in my face. When I looked at it later, there we all were! I wish all my photos from that day had been so lucky :)
By the way, I just love your "The Swarovski Tree, Queen Victoria Building, George St." It's so beautiful!
You have such a great eye for getting the "money shot" and in this one you provoke a child's memory of music..that intense concentration, if just for a moment, when all is sound and sweet.
