Sunday in my City - Splendour in the Grass

Flowers and grasses collected during the week from Centennial Park and North Bondi for you to savour at your leisure.

A member of the Sunday in my City community.

I am sampling the joys of Melbourne - including a day at the tennis. I will be back at my desk on Thursday 28th January.

  5. Thanks Julie, it very cold and drab here and your photos have helped brighten my day! I really like the first one - the little purple flower is shy and hiding from everyone.

  6. I love the variety found in grasses, and the different textures you've illustrated...lovely photos Julie. We won't see any grass for at least three more months (unless its a photo or a trip elsewhere!)

  7. Very cheery - I especially like the two tufty ones, so soft against the dark background.

  14. Now you know I am as much a grass tragic as you so this post is a delight. I especially love those little tails in the second last one. However, I must also make mention of the light on those succulent things ... it makes them very special. Makes me want to go out to the garden and see if I can make my aloe vera's look special.
BTW my red fountain grass is still sans-fountains, I think I cut them back too late.

  22. Savor, indeed. Grasses are some of the most perfect natural works of art and these photographs prove it.

  23. Perfect indeed. I spent quite some time yesterday morning wandering through less popular parts of Centennial Park, photographing grasses ablaze with morning light and dew. Glorious.
