This weekend will see 38,000 people jam into the Brasilian Fields and Parade Ground of Centennial Park for the annual Good Vibrations festival, over half-a-dozen stages. This tent, by the look of the clouds, protects the appropriately named "Laundry" stage.

Great picture...sounds like a fun event!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot, sounds like a nice event! With the name Good Vibrations it must be a music festival? Have fun!
ReplyDeleteun ciel d'enfer, superbe photo...
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful section you chose to photograph! It sounds like a fun festival. This photo reminds me of here, actually... we're always partying despite the rain!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot! Love it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful shot Julie! I like how the light is shining on the side of the tent.
ReplyDeleteIt's the angle I suppose but the tent appears to be flying up in the clouds. Sounds like a fun festival.
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing picture
ReplyDeleteWhat a great special shot of the tent and the sky.
ReplyDeleteGreat thunderheads - I hope the music could be heard above the thunder. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteI love the shiny tent and the low cloud above - opens like a mouth to the blue sky beyond.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. Very filmic.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. I can almost hear the thunder in those dark clods. If you go there, Julie, make sure you'll take your brollie.
ReplyDeleteGreat composition - the photo has a very medieval/fantasy feel about it.
ReplyDeleteCool! The top of the tent and the flags looks great against the clody sky :) Great captured!
ReplyDelete:)
It'll be a big weekend, rain or shine.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
Sounds like good times for good music. Great image too, Julie, for SWF!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I am in medieval world. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteRomantic Sunset
Now isn't that just a great skywatch .. the fun foreground, the lovely clouds in the middle and the stormy bit at the top ... who would have thought so much of a story could be told in a sky image.
ReplyDeleteI feel as if I've just come upon Camelot. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful shot, Julie.
ReplyDeleteJulie, regarding churches vs pubs, I think it's a toss up. There are certainly more pubs as you get closer to the city but maybe more churches as you venture further out in the suburbs.

Thanks, Jim. I am going to ask another acquaintance who photographs both churches AND pubs. I will let you know what he reckons.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous photo! It holds so much energy and promise of surprises.
ReplyDeletewhat a dramatic sky! wonderful shot!
ReplyDeleteNot a good night to go to a festival but a good time for sky photos.

ReplyDeleteUnique, beautiful, and dramatic. Those are the characteristics of this photo. A very well composed and beautiful shot! I like the use of the roof of the marquee as a subject in this photo.

ReplyDeleteGreat sky and angle.

Wow! Really beautiful and different Skywatch picture! Very Good!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!!! I like the reference to Camelot!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this picture. It gets the little kid in me excited.
ReplyDeleteThose dark clouds look ominous!
ReplyDeleteOh what a shot! The circus tent in Monte Carlo looks just like this without the flags - and how the flags 'make' it but of course the shot if made by that glorious sky and your capture of shadow and light. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeletegreat shot, if only the rain wont spoil the festival for the brazillians
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot of threatening clouds and silhouetted flags. Love it.
ReplyDeletejust love this!
