What better birthday present could I receive? My daughter, Kirsten, returns home today after facing her demons. In about ten days, the pathology on the excised ameloblastoma will pronounce whether the demons are vanquished. All data thus far is very encouraging.
wish i could bring everyone from yesterday's picnic to your door to celebrate your birthday with you, but since i can't, please know i celebrate with you the victories of the day and toast to you as you embrace another year...may this one bring you only good news.

ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful gift to have your daughter home from hospital - nothing beats that.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Julie!
The perfect birthday!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, how fabulous this is. My goodness when we think of what your daughter has been through and see these absolutely heartwarming photos - what a birthday present.
ReplyDeleteAll my thoughts are with you all.
Happiest birthday ever for you I should think Julie, many wishes coming your way.
ReplyDeleteA big Happy Birthday to you all.
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHome already wow. Happy birthday.
ReplyDeleteThank you, friends for the birthday wishes.
ReplyDeleteYes, the speed of the return home has taken my breath away. But Kirsten has always needed between 8 and 9 hours sleep. In hospital she was getting about 2 because of all the checking. Once she started to eat (fortified liquids) over the weekend, and after the two transfusions on Sunday, she just stormed ahead.
And Ally was starting to be a bit 'naughty' and K did not want this. So, there is a lot of help for her, but she will sleep and communciate with her daughter. that is even more incentive. She also has a nurse coming in. And I don't think she has lost any weight over the operation period - maybe half a kilo. She is just under 44kgs.
So thank you for all the warm vibes. She and I both appreciate them.
Happy Birthday Julie and wonderful news especially on your birthday. Hope that all continues to progress well.
ReplyDeleteSuch good news for all of you! Enjoy and Happy Birthday Julie.
ReplyDeleteGreat news. Really happy for you and your family. Have a great day Julie!
ReplyDeleteYou know, Kirsten reminds me of Jay Leno with that huge chin :-)
ReplyDelete*chuckle*
ReplyDeleteWe are working on her self concept, but being likened to Jay Leno isn't a dot point!
Hurrah! Glad she is doing well. Keeping prayers going there.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. August is the best birthday month. :)
Well, Leno made his chin his trademark and made loads of money because of / in spite of it. Might be an angle for Kirsten to consider...
ReplyDeleteGreat news, Julie. Hope all your daughter's news is always good now. Hope you had a Happy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for that pathology, Julie. Belated Happy Birthday:-)
ReplyDeleteOH wonderful news. Yes she will thrive at home surrounded by her loved ones. Prayers continue for her swift and full recovery.
