Homing pidgeon

What better birthday present could I receive? My daughter, Kirsten, returns home today after facing her demons. In about ten days, the pathology on the excised ameloblastoma will pronounce whether the demons are vanquished. All data thus far is very encouraging.

  18. Thank you, friends for the birthday wishes.

Yes, the speed of the return home has taken my breath away. But Kirsten has always needed between 8 and 9 hours sleep. In hospital she was getting about 2 because of all the checking. Once she started to eat (fortified liquids) over the weekend, and after the two transfusions on Sunday, she just stormed ahead.

And Ally was starting to be a bit 'naughty' and K did not want this. So, there is a lot of help for her, but she will sleep and communciate with her daughter. that is even more incentive. She also has a nurse coming in. And I don't think she has lost any weight over the operation period - maybe half a kilo. She is just under 44kgs.

So thank you for all the warm vibes. She and I both appreciate them.

  22. You know, Kirsten reminds me of Jay Leno with that huge chin :-)

  23. *chuckle*
We are working on her self concept, but being likened to Jay Leno isn't a dot point!

  24. Hurrah! Glad she is doing well. Keeping prayers going there.

Happy Birthday. August is the best birthday month. :)

  25. Well, Leno made his chin his trademark and made loads of money because of / in spite of it. Might be an angle for Kirsten to consider...
