Pretty names and very evocative.

ReplyDeletebecause of you and joan!

That top shot is top notch. I don't know how long I would have puzzled over it. Thank you for the i.d. of the swan bottom. These images have such an idyllic look. Perhaps because it is so green there and it's so white here.
ReplyDeleteles photos sont magnifiques, un endroit paradisiaque (surtout qu'ici c'est la pluie et pas de soleil, tout est triste). très beau reflet avec les arbres
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of gorgeous locations. Love the black swan - not its most elegant side!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, as always-- but I particularly enjoyed your description of the swan's position. "Base over apex" made my day!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots Julie. My favorite is the first one though!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fresh green photographs. And I never knew these ponds existed!
ReplyDeleteGreat set of photos, but now I'm curious about the Thursday Thirteen community, I'll check the link.
ReplyDeleteA lovely tranquil space which would be a lovely place to spend time in when one's head is not operating correctly! Being beside water is a very healing therapy. Could do with a dawdle round that area myself.
ReplyDeleteLovely clear shots, Julie.
Ya, I wondered to about 'bottoms up'.
ReplyDeleteStunning. Your photos are always so vivid and crisp. For me, the one with the black swan is the clear winner.
ReplyDeleteHah! Just noticed the discussion between the two ibis and the seagull spectator in the bottom photo. Wonderful.
ReplyDeletePondage. I didn't even know that was a word. Thanks again for the correction on my blog. The churches are indeed on Castlereagh Street. I made that mistake because the Presbyterian church runs between Castlereagh and Pitt and I was trying to get a shot of the Pitt Street side before posting but couldn't manage to find a time when it wasn't overshadowed by skyscrapers. I tried not to pass judgement on the Church of Scientology despite all the public debate and controversy, because at this stage the government still recognises it as a church.

Crikey a bloke has to get up early to be first at your blog! :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you'd called it duck's bum instead of beating round the bush, I still would have needed a hint, it's just my kind of shot!
I'm off to read about scientology now.

Great shot, that top one.
ReplyDeletei love getting to fly away and enjoy summer in Australia when it's brown and gray in Alabama!
ReplyDeleteMerci!

Great captures Julie. The reflections are perfect. Like Vicki, I noticed the ' discussion' of the birds in the last photo.
ReplyDeleteIt must be really nice to visit that place.
i love this park, the pic are so lovely...i have a funny story about ducks & swans...i was sitting by zuricksee when i lived there watching the ducks diving for food, thinking how vunerable they were with their tail in the air & their heads under water. Along came a swan and bit one on the butt. i was laughing so hard
ReplyDeleteI would love to capture something like that. Right time right place, I guess.
ReplyDeleteahhhh warmth!!! It's nice to see ponds not frozen over :-)
ReplyDeleteThis one got me interested because I was taking water shots last weekend. Water is always so soothing so just about any shot works but getting it just right that's harder. I think the top shot is best because it is less traditional.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos and lush green foliage. Makes me long to be there.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much interesting information on your blog every time I visit, Julie.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are lovely too, I like shadows and reflections in photos and you have them both here.
Still the coolest is the black swan's opinion about the world.
Wow...simply beautiful!!!

Have a great day!!
Each photo is spectacular, but I loved the diving swan the best.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! The greens were balm to my winter-filled eyes!
ReplyDeleteyou took my breath away :)
