The Lily Pond is fed by a natural, underground spring originating in Lachlan Swamp. Its small island, vegetated with papyrus, provides a refuge for purple swamphens, black swans and the very noisy reed warbler. When the weather is warm, the water of Lily Pond brims with dragonfly nymphs, water boatmen and aquatic earthworms. Lily Pond appears to be more ornamental that each of the other ponds in the Parklands. Next week I will show you more of the Monet-like bridge that you just see a little of this week.

Gorgeous reflections!
ReplyDeleteStunning reflections, Julie. Enjoy your break away!
ReplyDeleteGosh, this is very seriously nice!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing these pictures. I get a little warmer, just looking.
ReplyDeleteBoth are very beautiful. I can't really pick one over the other, so I'll appreciate them both! The tall tree in the second shot jumps out of the photo and catches your eye.
ReplyDeleteI take what I said yesterday about water images being a snap to do. These reflections are just right. I tried some at a bush creek last weekend. The water was mirror smooth but I ended up with a hodge podge of reflections (will have to see what severe cropping will do) ... whereas your's are a standout. Enjoy the tennis.
ReplyDeleteThe essence of beauty.
ReplyDeleteA deep silent bow in respect of your ability to see and paint with a photography.
ReplyDeleteI like both images but the first one really grabs me.
ReplyDeletecrystal clear reflection! very pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful~ The variety of trees around the pond makes for so much to gaze at~
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely time!

Beautiful Reflections.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous Julie. The first one in particular is spectacular. I am very intrigued by the bridge, it looks beautiful. Kathy
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are really lovely. In particular I like the way everything seems to revolve around the lone palm tree in the second. Gorgeous reflections.
ReplyDeleteThe "Lily" Pond? what a beautiful name! & lovely place to see as well. Enjoy your samplings!
ReplyDeleteI caught something almost identical to your second image whilst I was in Florida. Hope you're having as great a time as I had.
ReplyDeleteFlorida at this time of year is probably a blessed relief from Vermont!
ReplyDeleteThe palm tree here is quite some distance beyond the furthest bank of the pond into which it reflects. It is a spectacularly beautiful little area. Very contemplative early week mornings, but avoid it on Saturdays!
These are gorgeous reflections! How wonderful to see a different view from the same bridge.
ReplyDeleteLovely reflections. Nice captures.
