A breath of fresh air

Ding - Dingaling - Ding - Ding - Chink!! The lights are flashing all over my little geek-pinball-table with this one! I am inducted into the annals of Geekgodess!! Hah!!

They have varying names: sub-floor vents, air vents, air bricks. Whichever, I have chosen ones from older buildings - late 19th, early 20th century. Vents in the 21st century are a little more pedestrian.

  6. A terrific collection. They're all great but I'm fascinated by the first one with the crown.

  9. Rats. You've pinched one of my ideas. I have a good one of the LPMA vent (we're Land and Property Management Authority at the moment), though I was going to try it in mono. The Mint Museum has some nice ones as well. Haven't seen the round or square ones before - very unusual.

  11. Very good Julie, I like them very much. I only hope you don't get picked up for loitering doing all these type photos.

  12. Why exactly can't I rein in my ADD self to remember to do a collage such as this ? It's genius Julie and I love it when you do it. Damn, I just lose it in my O.L.D. fog I guess. How gorgeous these are. I don't think my city has the likes of these........but maybe they do and i've not noticed.

  13. How glorious. So many styles. I love that something as simple as an air vent cane be in an Art Nouveau style. Beautiful and beautifully presented, Julie.

  16. What an amazing and beautiful array of air vents! You have a great eye for details, Julie. I haven't even noticed if our buildings have such. The crown design in the Supreme Court's vent is gorgeous. I also like what looks to be the art nouveau style of the Mitchell Library's.
