Urban compassion

This is a study in meaning. The denotation of this alley is Tattersall's Lane. However, its connotation could quite easily be Hope Street.

    I've just noticed that you are a taphophile. Dunno how long that has been in your heading. I've known this about you but how did you find the word? I had to google it to find out what it was.
