Frozen visually in the ‘70s, this mechanic’s workshop continues to offer tune-ups, brakes, clutches, auto trans, steering and oil changes. Envisaging a hoist over a pit attended by grease monkeys clad in King Gee overalls, one would hesitate to leave a Datsun 180B that alone a Honda S2000.

You really do love rust!
These are great Julie, as usual. I especially like the first photo.
I love, Julie, that you give us the close up of the metal cut out, which you've photographed with grace and sympathy, and then you back away and give us the context in which the first photo belongs. Such an interesting little journey for us. Thank you.
They don't get an award for being posh or good "fung shui" but I bet they're good with grease and lubricants! Maybe they could get rid of the clanking sound my VW Passat makes??
The first photo is great, the second gives us contest, and a slightly more modern sign.
I thought that 555 was a fake prefix used in movies a TV shows, but down there it works!
Auto shops seem to like being stuck in a time warp. More so than other industries I wonder?
They do seem to be stuck in the past, but maybe they still do a good job at a reasonable price since their overhead must be low.
Beautiful sign, though.
