Is this a greyhound track?

You lived up to the name of your blog on this one - Great Sydney "eye." That red doth stand out!

No no. The greyhound track is about 1km away to the East. This is Jubilee Park which is used for soccer and field hockey.

The bin is a beauty. I tried the shot with and without ...

Now, I can't imagine this without the red bin...

The entire shot is a beauty. Fabulous lines. And that red bin. You shift our attention to it and the entire piece then radiates from it. Remarkable work here, Julie.

Sorry, but it looks more orange to me than red. But then again, I'm a guy. Are the greyhounds on vacation?

Something about the fence post near and far or maybe it's the arches or simply the red bin. I guess it's everything it this shot that makes it so interesting to look at.

I was trying to figure out why those buildings in my post looked so familiar and out of place. It does look like an old Western town I guess the reason that it didn't click is because this is an Eastern town.

I should dig up some of my old west town photos that I took when I lived in Texas.

I hope all is well in your new home.

I'm glad you said soccer, kept me from going on about greyhound racing and the treatment of dogs as disposable objects.

A reminder that sometims the title is as important as the picture for focusing interest. I have to say, this is very neat and tidy urban decay!

Aah ... did not think that labels that I thought okay for the series might not be applicable for each individual post. Ooops ...

Now that AH has divulged her doggie fixation, I will take you all down to the Wentie dog track and do a few rounds with the mechanical bunnie ... hee hee hee ...

Indeed ... after the red, that is what captivated me the most. I am surprised that no-one else mentioned it.

I must say this was a fun shot to frame: what to leave in and what to leave out.
