Skywatch - Morning glory

Swathed in early morning light, these cliffs protect the southern approach to Sydney Harbour.

Merci, Olivier. I start my French lessons on Monday, so within a few months maybe I will not have to put your comments through Babel. I do appreciate them, just wish I could read them myself!

I'm just imagining what it would have been like to sail into this harbor after months at sea. What a sight! Good luck with the French lessons.

Beautiful beautiful photograph. The light just sparkles through the air.

I really like the template you use for your blog. Do you mind telling me where you got it? I am growing dissatisfied with mine as it renders the photos too small.

It's an absolutely gorgeous view Julie! I love all the blue in the sky and the water.

It's no wonder everyone falls in love with Sydney. A beautiful shot.

I especially love the light on the flowers in the foreground. Are they gazanias. Excellent image.

Bill, the template I use is Minima but I have altered some of the HTML to customise. For example, I have the overall template set to 925 with Main set to 650 and Sidebar to 250. I have removed the borders around the Heading and changed the font to Papyrus. I have made the line around images =2 and removed the padding so that the line is right next to the image. To change HTML you go into Customise, and the button is next to the Change Template button.

On Boxing Day, I can just see the yachts heading out of the harbour sailing south. It is a beautiful spot.

How beautiful. They're very dramatic looking. Our cliffs don't tend to be as sheer as those.

Looks very inviting--much better than the overcast winter skies on my side of the world.

Ahhhhh the majesty of the southern Sydney coastline. Great capture as usual. Nice sky too.

Yes, in some (many) of my Skywatch posts the sky is nearly incidental!

Have just discovered your blog and am enjoying looking, and reading, through everything :)

It certainly is a glorious shot. I'm not sure what metals have been used in the construction of the leisure centre on my blog. Up close, most of it looked more like stainless steel than aluminium.

To stand at the edge, during morning, to think about it and discovering the ability to decide to step back and to return into the life of a still young day.
(What I saw in this picture)

Please have a wonderful Friday.

I forgot to respond to Jo. Yes, that is a patch of gazania on the cliff edge. They are still not responding to the lure of the sun.

The cliffs glow and shine in contrast to the matt water and background. Excellent capture.

Julie, I found some architectural design award information about the Cabravale Leisure Centre that tells me they used recycled aluminium for the exterior. Well spotted, by you.
