Michael, to reassure you, there is absolutely no oil on this surface. And I follow the environmental cleanup and the economic consequences of the BP disaster with much interest. I believe it will herald the end of BP as an entity. I think the world will continue to drill for oil deep under the ocean and bugger the consequences.
Julie you stopped by - thanks for that. But you mentioned you couldn't enlarge my photos. I have no idea how to do that. I just upload from my camera. Any hints? Thanks.
I hope you suceed with the raindrops this weekend. Its takes a bit of moving around the "drop" getting the right angle. You need to have some other blooms close by and be prepared for many digital photos heading to the recycle bin too. When you get a good one - crop the image. All the best :) Rosie, Centre of Interest photoblog
Rosie, I ALWAYS end up with images in the waste bin!! But I am determined to nail this on this occasion. Shall come back to you during my Sunday evening.
I just love the texture of the water on this picture. And the harmony of the colors blue/grey and orange is very zen... I like also the rupture with the trail of the boat...

I feel as though I'm writing in an old autograph book: "by hook or by crook I'll be first in this book!"
I love the greasy solidity of the water at this time of day, it aways makes me feel as though I could walk across it.
Sensational. (Literally)

Breath taking!
A stunning photograph Julie! I almost feel like I am there.
This is a magical yet eerie quality that is very rare indeed. I must look again and again!!!
Oh, what a wonderful, quiet and peaceful photo!
Like Clytie, I just had to look again and again. Stunning photo. Have a good weekend. Jo
Deep soft ripples of colour! This is magically mesmerising!
That's quite striking. And, in the US it calls up images of the huge Gulf oil spill. Too sad.
A beautiful ripple of the smoothest waves. And what otherworldly light!

What a beautiful moment captured. This has the same calming effect as the sound of slow, steady heartbeat.
What a stunning photo! A beautiful place.

Indeed, and we will.

This is so beautiful...what a pleasant scene this is. I hope you were able to spend some quality time here, before and after the photo was taken.
What lovely light and a beautiful capture, not always easy a the light drops. Makes me feel as if am gliding into a warm night with a peaceful heart.
The light is absolutely fantastic!
Beautiful reflections. Breathtaking shot.
the rounded symmetry of the wash is lovely and the atmosphere peaceful.
Like rolling silk - really nice. Congratulations on your new grand-daughter also!
By the way, I loved your description of my photo "wild west meets Paris" :)
That is an incredibly peaceful ending to the day!
The quietness of a summer evening as seen from a boat - excellent!!
Well done! Magical colours and warmth.

The silky smoothness of the water almost makes me want to reach out and caress it.

Wow - an absolutely stunning photo - looks like liquid gold and silver mixing together - those waves really add so much to the photo, too.
