Purple finale

Glorious, isn't it? I fluked upon this by happenstance, wandering back from the Opera House. It is all on The Rocks side of Sydney Cove, on the walkway up past the Museum of Contemporary Art.

This is the last of my jacaranda binge - unless - unless - I happen to see one with a bunch of open aggies beneath.

I didn't know Sydney had so many jacarandas.
Where I grew up they were everywhere.
You know, Toowoomba.
Did you see it on the latest Gardening Australia?
You say it's the end of the Jacaranda photos, but when you get back from your gallivant, there will be purple carpets everywhere and you won't be able to resist!

This is a great row of them! Excellent shots. But as freefalling says: no need to plant aggies underneath if you wait for the carpet of fallen blossoms.

These shots and yesterday's are just heavenly. The jacaranda is such a wonderful tree. There is one on the way to Monaco but I've had one in my garden for 10 years now and still it hasn't bloomed. My memories in Oz are of driving through Grantham (I think I'm right it was Grandtham) where the whole main street is jacaranda. Stunning.

Grafton, Jilly. And I agree, the entire main street is stunning.

Grafton! Of course. At least I got the first letter right! Never forgot those amazing trees tho.

I know Circular Quay but only in July... so I have to come back, you'll agree with me, nobody can't stay without seeing such a beautiful blossoming at least once in his life! :-))

I agree with the both of you: it is a sight for sore eyes! And July does not do this city justice, Alice. Now is the better time ... spring.

Lovely aren't they. Mine of these were taken on a very cloudy day and the colour is quite washed out. Your second photo is identical to mine. Like the perspective of the last one - for some reason I didn't think of that.
