Redhead Beach - Christmas Week (2)

The sand on the beaches along this area of our state are like no others that we know. They are composed from ground sandstone, which makes the sand very fine, and sweetly coloured.

Out to sea, there are acres and acres of seagrass beds, so the water is crystal clean. The waves have the entire Pacific to get up a decent roll through, so the swimming and the surfing are both spectacular.

I dearly love those shades of brown and green. And right now, I covet your weather.

Dreamy! Oh to walk barefoot on the sandy beach and hear the ocean waves! We're in the middle of a snowstorm right now and I'll have to clean snow out of my driveway tonight...

Redhead's 'just along the coast' but I never knew that about the sand! (I love the phrase 'sweetly coloured'!)

Perfect for setting the summer mood. We've been hunkered down here at the beach ... blowing a gales .. but sun today ... not a single photo taken ... having a break.

Exquisite colors and textures... I imagine most of the people I know would love to be there right now. What a delightful series of photos and posts from this beach.

Again, two beautiful photos. Maybe they call it Redhead Beach because the surfers are burnt to a crisp, like these two gents. Don't they sell sunblock there?

And so too are your photos spectacular. Love the green moss in contrast with the red sand.

Beautiful images, very evocative of warmer times and warmer climes(I'm sure I was once warm too, but it seems a long time ago). I have to agree with Diane about the great juxtaposition of red and green.
