Centennial Park was dedicated to the citizens of Sydney, and more broadly, the citizens of Australia in 1888, one hundred years after the first european settlement of the island continent.
Centennial Park, however, is also the name of a suburb; a very small, but ritzy suburb, which commenced in 1904 with the auction of about 100 acres of land. Building restrictions ensured quality: no wooden houses; no terraces; brick or stone only.
As this week progresses, let's have a sticky at some of them.

Sounds like an interesting walk.
Halfway down? I have no idea. No, I don't think so. Just checked, and I also have a shot of 106. This street is opposite Centennial Park with houses one side only. Only even house numbers.
Now I need to understand why BC asked that question. She is alluding to something that is escaping me ... All I can think of is 'King's Row' ... but I cannot imagine her to be a fan of his politics ... nope ... have to wait for her to clarify. My brain is sodden.
I think she meant 50 as half of 100 (Centennial). Of course your brain is sodden, Julie. You've been through a lot, but the good news from Darren today assures me things are going well, so maybe you can get some rest.

This is so interesting. Although the style of the wrought iron is different it reminds me so much of a post I put on Menton DP on the 1st July (theme day) and the date of my gate wouldn't be so dissimilar to yours.
