Staring us in the face

Beryl resides in a secure dementia unit, with 22 others. My brother is one of them. He had a stroke last year, which left him with no paralysis, but which severely impacted his cognitve functioning. I will introduce you to two other residents over the weekend.

She's beautiful. There is a look in her eyes that brings tears to mine.

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother ...

what a sensitive portrait, what a gift you have for finding the spirit.

Oh, isn't she a sweetie? "Brattcat" is right, you do have a gift for portraiture.
I always look for updates on Barry in your list of "family blogs" but I guess things haven't changed much.
Sending warmest thoughts to you and yours...

I love the weathered faces of old people and wonder what memories are locked inside. She looks happy but a bit vacant. I hope she is happy my mum wasn't when she suffered dementia.
