Brr ... the winds of August blew again yesterday. And down came this twig of gumnuts. Well, nearly gumnuts. The little yellow caps *burst* off, and the typical spray of gum flowers ooze out - white in this case. My courtyard has been littered with the yellow caps all week. This put me in mind of a famous Australia children's book called 'Snugglepot and Cuddlepie'. |

A definite reminder of the. May Gibbs classic.
Gumnuts are magical and enchanting. Wonderful children's book with illustrations.
I was not familiar with these characters - love the illustrations.
Wouldn't want to be walking around bare footed!!!
What an interesting flower
I like this kind image and am always pleased to get a shot of gumnuts because they are so often high in the canopy so you have to happen on a twig like you have. Have you ever been to May Gibbs home? I haven't.
