St Matthews, Windsor


Windsor is one of the five townships declared by Governor Lachlan Macquarie in 1810: Windsor, Richmond, Castlereagh, Pitt Town, and, Wilberforce.

St Matthews Anglican Church in Windsor, designed by the convict architect, Francis Greenway, was founded in 1820.

that is one deep blue sky you have over there!
The cupola on this church looks a bit out of place - but that is me being too critical.

Yeah. I need to adjust my in-camera settings for contrast and saturation and colour tone. I also tend to under-expose to ensure the detail of the sky is captured as well. Hence, the irridescence of the sky.

I love this church ... the cemetery seems incidental. I remember sitting in the park over the road from it one summer day writing poetry ... should do more of that ... lolling around wiring poetry instead of working late nights like I have been doing this week.
