At five in the afternoon I stood in Gipps Street, looking down into Glenmore Road, and across to Oxford Street. At five in the morning, I stood on Oxford Street, looking across into Glenmore Road and through the dawn's week light, up into Gipps Street. All in Paddington ... |

These are really nice shots Julie.
I LOVE the morning light.....
Nice images!
Well I like the light in the morning shot but I don't care for the time of day in either of them ... except for the slow fading of day that happens in the height of summer.
that was a long day for you...
I love these photos, Julie, although I am seldom outdoors at 5:41am. Awake to put the dog out, yes, then wait for her to come in so I can go back to sleep! So I like the dawn shot best, despite the lovely flowers and trees in the first photo.
Am I wrong or do I see the last star of morning to the left of (top) centre in your early-morning photo?

Kay - there is a similar shot (but different) in this earlier post http://sydney-eye.blogspot.com.au/2012/10/an-early-start.html
I have decided to take a shot each time I stand there and wait for the bus to take me to the station to catch the train up to see my brother. Eventually, it will be very light. It is a lovely time of the morning.
Even before you said that I knew exactly where you were going Julie, thankfully it'll get better as the days get longer and lighter..even though it's still a hard time to be up and at 'em!
