I love seeing those beautiful old garage doors - they are few and far between here in my suburb but I spot one every now and again.
Man oh man we are lazy these days - just a click of a button and we are in - gates and garage doors.
We actually HAVE TO GET OUT of our car and open the gates with our own hands!!
And then....we have to CLOSE them!
Can you imagine?!

These are flash doors with the windows. We had just big timber doors that were a bugger for a kids to open and close for our parents.

Oh, I love the old doors. I remember how impressed my brother and I were the first time we saw garage doors that lifted up via a handle in the middle, and we were SO excited the first time we saw remote-control doors.
Life. Interesting.

We once had one like that in the family home but it was replaced by a roller door.

I remember them.

I wonder if those garages house cars or if they are like ours ... so full of stuff there is no room for the car. At least it saves having to open the door.

iI somehow think many of these garage doors protect a 'men's shed' arrangement ...
