Sea Serpents

The sea-serpents surrounding the clock here, put me in mind of the sea-sepents on the drain-pipes on the Hotel Lazun on Ile de la Cite, in Paris.
This is Customs House at Circular Quay. It was constructed in 1844, added to over the decades since then, and ceased being involved with the collection of customs in 1990. It now houses two cafes, numerous function rooms, and a branch of the City of Suydney library. On the footpath on its western wall, is the spot where it is calculated that Captain Arthur Phillip first raised the British flag on 26 January, 1788.

The clock is magnificent and love how it is framed.
