Hob-nobbing at The Angel

Although The Angel Hotel, on the corner of Pitt Street and Angel Place, was constructed in 1888, it has been rebuilt more times than Joan Rivers. It started off as 3-floors, and is now 5.

Nowadays, it is just another chain in the mail of the Merrivale armour, like a whole bunch of trendy-twee pubs across Sydney.

I wouldn't think of it as a hotel either.

I like your comment about Joan Rivers and I like the Heaven Sent sign.

Lots of period features still visible Julie. PS Love the line "rebuilt more times than Joan Rivers". Grin.

I like the shot of the entrance.

The tiled walls usually tells that it is a pub. Is it true that they have tiled walls so that they are easy to hose down after the late night chunders?

Yes Diane, that is what I believe to be true, too. Before 6 o'clock closing was given the boot! Charming, eh what?
