I took the first shot at the end of May. Charles Bayliss took the second shot in 1879. I sourced the historic shot from the National Library of Australia. St James’ Church was constructed between 1819 and 1824. It is the oldest church building in the City of Sydney and has been in continuous use from its consecration on 11 February 1824 to the present. It is a church of the Anglican tradition. |

It is a beautiful church! Good to contrast it between then and now.

Gosh ... it looks pretty much identical Julie. There's not too many buildings that you can say that about.
This is one of my favourite churches. I like its simplicity.
