HEADS-UP: Theme Day on 1st August is 'Numbers'. Spread the word in case the portal is not operational by then. Join Eric's CDPB FaceBook page, to keep in touch.
I like very much the second picture with the birds and the two walkers sharing the strip of sand in the middle of all the other colored strips of grass, pavement, water and sky.
Carole: I am up Rathmines way again later this week and then twice next week. Athough the weather should have eased by then, I hope. Our brother is having 'issues' and is better if he sees us a bit more, just now.
I too spent some winter beach walking yesterday - at London Bridge Ocean Beach on the Mornington Peninsula. It was the first day of sunshine in about a week at least! And even though it was bitingly cold, the sand walkers were there! I was quite surprised! (But far from crowded at least!) Love your moody images of rolling waves!
Looks like there is lots of options for Bondi beach walkers; sand, grass or pavement. Not many would venture into the water this time of year though. Thanks for the heads up on the CDP meme for August. I can never find where it is announced on the portal. It's probably staring me in the face.
Yes, Diane. I saw the skating rink. mmm ... not my sort of thing, really. I like wild and woolly weather, not pandering to people who really should chuff off to NZ for a couple of weeks in the real cold.
It would be interesting to see both on the same day. There was a great shot in the newspaper last week of a surfer on the beach watching the skaters on the ice.

It is a nice time for a walk on the beach without the crowds and smell of sun tan lotion.
Could not agree more, Dave. Just a coat buttoned tight and a beanie.

Julie I enjoyed your Bondi in winter photos; I've spent quite some time by the ocean on the central coast and the seas have been very rough
Therese: that you for noticing that. I tried the stripes in B&W but they were much better in the original colour. All very horizontal.

Brrr it looks cold. I like the tones in the bottom one.
I do enjoy walking along the shore when the water is acting up.

That wind can be spiteful. Did you see the skating rink?

such a cold and restless sea.
Ah Julie, it was fun to see surfers and skaters in the same spot. Its not permanent thank goodness.

I think Diane (Dementia) has a shot very similar to that from when she was down last week.
I don't like they way the sea blows i.. all the more reason to avoid it like the plague in winter when the breeze is chill.
