Can you remember the smell? Try to bring it back: close your eyes and cajole your olfactory-memory of the tomato-vine smells from yesterday. Ahhh ...
Try-hards in the supermarket can package their organic, vine-rippened tomatoes from here to Kingdom-come: they don't come within a bull's-roar of the potential of this little beauty from my front garden.

Oh yes I do know that smell. You are so right. We are lucky here in that many of the tomatoes are locally grown. Each year I get babies coming up in the compost heap but we need so much water here to feed them that it's easier to pop down to the market and buy them from the old ladies who grow them in Sospel, which is above Menton. amazing how just thinking about them, I can smell that 'real' tomato smell.
Ahh look at that...lovely! Mine are sourced at the market. I reckon I am the only person in Australia who can't grow tomatoes.
What a wonderful photo ...to see the hairs on that vine..amazing!
