Still in Melbourne.
Fawkner Park runs parallel to St Kilda Road and nearly links up with the Botanic Gardens which are beside the Yarra River. Everything is incredibly dry and brown: the grass is so dry that in many, many spots it is nowt but dust.
When I took these photos on Australia Day, the bushfires were merely an urge in some dimwitted match-box. At least a week later, I was able to
track a storm progressing through the fire-ravaged Gippsland, east of Melbourne.

Beautiful Trees.
There was a big Australian Women's Army Service (AWAS) barracks at Fawkner Park during the war. My Mum was based there, so I have heard the name often but don't think I have actually visited there.
These are just lovely. What is it about pathways leading the eye on and on? Beautiful.
