Theme: Where is our blogger?

This Theme Day is in support of our missing City Daily Photo blogger from Tehran. As a blogging community we support his continuing involvement in this community where he posts photographs and stories about his city. This community works toward breaking down the barriers between cultures and peoples and, in its own small way, making the world a more peaceful place to live.

Furthermore, as an individual, I support the Iranian people in their endeavour to shape a society to their own liking. It is not a struggle for western style democracy and freedom. It is a struggle for self-determination. I am a small part of a world-wide hum that recognises that my emphasis on the individual should not necessarily replace their emphasis on the collective or the communal.

I stand on the sideline in thoughtful contemplation of a people wronged. I support self-determination for all peoples through communal watchfulness. The world is a community. The world is watching.

Watching closely, Julie. I like your way of expressing how this doesn't have to be what anyone else wants, but what the Iranian people choose.

I like the point you made, Julie: freedom to choose, freedom of self-determination. Too often, peoples try to impose of others what they think should be and that is where the troubles begin.

Indeed. Well said, Julie.

Absolutely right. Freedom to choose, freedom of self-determination, their choice, not ours. That is such a thoughtful observation. Excellent post and one I should learn from.My passion for my soapbox can cloud the issues at times.

Well said Julie. Its not about what we think their country should be, its about what they want it to be and that they have the opportunity to be heard. I hope that by adding our voices we can raise awareness and let people know they are not forgotten by the rest of the world.

excellent collage to support the people of Iran who want their votes counted and our missing fellow city daily photo blogger who we all hope is released from custody soon.

I have also been following a couple of people on Twitter from inside Iran. Word coming out today is that one of them may have been arrested. I love those balloons.

You've put together a great image and put together your thoughts so well.

Oh, I do hope so, JM. Let us all know when you can. You are doing a wonderful job of keeping us all informed here. Bravo!

Creative post, Julie. And you said what needs to be said so very well!

Julie, your reflections on CDPB's contribution to world peace closely match my thoughts that in a small way our photos bring the world closer together ... hopefully "A" will be released soon along with all the others who have been arrested, hopefully the violence will end, and hopefully the citizens of Iran will have their vote counted.
