Life on the ocean waves

David Moore's photographs of the Columbus Line

This is a fabulous precinct, where the National Maritime Museum was established. You will need sensible shoes, though.

The National Maritime Museum is in Darling Harbour beside the old Pyrmont Bridge beneath the three arcs on the RHS

I like the big cloud in the background. Wow! I think, I must return to Australia again. But I have to wait until my little son is old enough to realize and to enjoy such a trip.

Wow, look at those clouds! I always wanted to visit the Maritime Museum but unfortunately we ran out of time. Next time we're in Sydney.

I went the Maritime Museum not long after it opened and found it rather boring ... but then I don't like boats or the sea that much. It could also have matured somewhat since then.

Nothing is boring if you have a camera and are fascinated with using the detail to entice out the whole.

You went by ferry? That really is an ominous sky. Must admit I wasn't overly impressed by the interior of the Maritime Museum but I do enjoy clambering over the old boats. Was years ago so might have improved, I know they have some interesting talks etc down there.

Nope, took a ferry FROM there and toured the harbour ending up over at the new marine institute at Clifton Gardens. I have bucketloads of that sort of cloud. Was a terrific day last week. Shall post ont on Friday Saturday & Sunday while I am up the Central Coast.

Both shots are stunning, they have some interesting exhibits, must be a good curator.

Mesmerised by the cloud formation.

I have had strange looks from fellow drivers when I have pulled over to take a photo of a cloud.

As Bill says, we always mean to get there but never do. Hopefully next time. Love the clouds...they followed us to Brisbane.
