Theme Day - Bright colours

Who is out early keeping all the grass down, so visitors are able to see all the colourfully decorated resting places at the Wauchope Cemetery?

They sure are bright. I think that colours in Australia are just that much brighter than anywhere else at the best of times.

The flowers in that first shot could be taken in Italy where many false flowers are used in cemeteries. My favourite shot - the last one with the kangaroos. That's classic!

Bonitos colores para un lugar tan triste.
Curioso lo de los canguros.
Un saludo.

What a delightful post. Love the last shot.

Love it! It must be quite nice to have kangaroos grazing at one's grave.

Cool and colourful shots! Never thought that roos are avid cemetery's attendants.

The last one is very funny, so strange to see such animals on a graveyard.

Denouement is such a good word. Yes, great denouement photo.

Kangaroos in the graveyard, now that's something we'll never see in Vermont! Are these flowers blooming now?

No no BC. The flowers on the headstone are all fake (plastic or fabric). However, the two photos in the middle are in flower right now around the edge of the cemetery. It is a gorgeous place and I will have to work out how to include more images in one of my blogs somehow. My mother is buried there.

Classic!
Love it :)

You have just given me a flashback to my childhood. I grew up inland from Wauchope and I know this area well.
Cemeteries make great subjects for photos (even better with kangaroos)

Wonderful post for Theme Day. I would have guessed sheep, not kangaroos!

My Theme Day post at Portland Oregon Daily Photo will be up at 5 a.m., Pacific Daylight Time, on August 1. Today's is a pretty nice tease for it, though.

How funny! That last photo took me by surprise. They are doing a wonderful job of keeping the grounds beautiful!

Fantastic!
Great catch. They seem like caught in the act in the early morning light!

They certainly are bright. I never would have thought of a cemetery as the place to look for bright colours. Brilliant capture with the roos too. For a moment, I thought I was seeing things there that I shouldn't be seeing. :)

Not the usual place where you think to find colors, but you knew better. The colors are intense and the images beautiful.
My favorite is the first one, but the one with the kangaroos is a great catch.

A lovely selection of bright colours but kangaroos in a cemetery is unique.

What a RIOT!!!!!!
Must say, those flowers are eye-catching! The roos have no interest in them?

Julie said...

As I mentioned to BC, BM, the flowers are fake. Even so, I suspect they would not be interested. If they were goats ... maybe!

The entire cemetery was eyecatching. Very attractive and well kempt.

Great colors and nice to see "Skippy and co."......

Do the kangaroos contemplate that they might be adding levity to the somber atmosphere of cemeteries?

Laughed out loud at your punchline last photo. Our local cemetery has a mole colony. Kangaroos are more fun.

Virginia said...

OK Julie this "takes the cake" as my grandmother would have said. These roos in the cemetery paying their respects is an award winner.

Julie said...

Moles ... ummm ... don't they live underground ... possibly should live other than in a cemetery, perhaps?

Kangaroos in the cemetery! Sweet! I love seeing the bright flowers among all the tombstones. It's always nice to know that family and friends remember and continue visiting.

What a great post Julie!

What a wonderfully off beat theme day entry ... including the kangaroos ... very cheeky indeed.
