The paradoxes of Paddington - 2

Rosebud Lane runs off Oxford Street, Paddington, beside the Rose, Shamrock & Thistle pub, aka 'the three weeds', which would have to be my favourite watering hole. Any pub that plays Dave Brubeck and still has tiles that withstood the six o'clock closing hose, has to get the thumbs up.

It runs up to COFA (the College of Fine Arts) and leads to a most attractive enclave of urban planning. More on this next time.

I can see why this would be a favoured watering hole, Julie. Delightful colours, shapes, textures in these images.

Full of character. Thanks for the feedback on the SydCon. I've corrected my post.

Bars on just one window? Surely a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.

Like the muted blue/greens.

Have a great trip! Look forward to the photos.

Polarisers can be good but it takes a while to learn to use them properly. Main thing to remember - they work best with the sun at a 90 degree angle ie over right or left shoulder. They are good for taking reflections out of water, I've done that a couple of times.

Love the patina, the color of this place. Your photographs make me want to join you right there.
I'm breathlessly awaiting your Paris photos. I will relish your time there and your take on the city j'adore. Bon voyage.

The poled trees like painterly, I like that scene very much, patina describes it perfectly.
I love the name Paddington and then I saw Rosebud Lane...

Ah, Beer and Brubeck. There is a classic combination. Arnie's Bar still plays good jazz in the background - Brubeck, Coltrane, Miles Davis, just the good stuff. If you ask the barman to play your favorite he will growl at you without looking up, but 20 minutes later you notice that it is playing. Sunday nights is an Irish Band.

Sombre but warm tones in these images. Interesting shots.
