Purple lane

Looking across Cascade Street into Hargreave Lane, and this glorious shower of ... colour ... it is not mauve ... it is not lavender ... it could be lilac ... but I have settled on purple.

I am discovering that some of the more eye-filling examples of Jacaranda are to be found in the hidden nooks and crannies of the Paddington hillside. I have a few more to show you over the coming days, as I gallivant down to Melbourne to experience the totally awesome Mr Leonard Cohen!

Leonard Cohen? All RIGHT, Julie! A creative Canadian if there ever was one. So happy for you.
And I love your jacaranda pictures. What an amazing, amazing tree. I love it.

Love the purple lane, it's a rich delight :)
While you're in Melb try to see the Manchester Unity Building I think you'll like the foyer and the beauty of it ;)
That's if you haven't already had the pleasure!

I'm so glad to know that the genius of Mr. Cohen has reached the land down under. I'll bring my CDs when I finally go there!

He's been here a few times now. I missed out last year, so got in early this year! I think I bought my first Cohen LP(!!) in the late '70s.

Leonard Cohen - lucky you, enjoy!

That's a magnificent tree. Saw a park bordered by them the other day but I was on the train. Had no idea they were there.

Dare I admit I had to google Leonard Cohen to find out who he is. While I was at it I googled what colour are jacarandas ... purple-blue is the most popular ... talk about sitting on the fence.

Best get some pics of the old fig trees at the Scottish Hospital in Paddington before they chop them down..such a tragedy and a disgrace!

I am not so sure about that being a tragedy OR a disgrace. I have seen each of the trees that are to be removed, and I walked around the gardens of the Scottish Hospital twice a week.

I am going along to the next presentation where their final development submission is discussed. I will report back on what I hear and how I feel about it.
