Waiting for the 327

As I leant over the pedestrian overpass, waiting for a train to come from Edgecliff station, I watched this gentleman shuffle toward me. I no longer know what 'elderly' means, the closer I get to it. He acknowledged my gaze, doffed his hat, and continued on down to the bus stop. He probably remembers when he had to wait for the tram on Bayswater Road. A young man, with his life ahead of him. Dressed to the nines, to meet his girl for an evening of dancing and merriment at Chequers.

He is still "dressed to the nines" and has the demeanor of a gentleman. Haven't had anyone doff their hat to me in a long time. Perhaps I'm hanging around the wrong people?

Definitely a "gentleman". Took a while to register that its a reflection behind him.

The don't make Cahill's Coffee Shops anymore either, Mark.

You've caught him elegantly posed -and meticulously attired - shoes of fine Italian leather I would say.
Elderly but dignified!
Well captured Julie!

Somehow this feels like a combination of the Blues Brothers and a statue of James Joyce in Dublin.

Yes I agree, there is still a gentleman around. He looks cute I guess.

I was coming back here to peruse your photos after I looked at a few yesterday. Yesterday I was struck by how well you compose an image. Today, I just saw this man and thought, "awesome."

You have done this gentleman justice with this image - a very positive picture of 'elderly'.

I only hope I look half as good when I am his age.

Beautiful portrait and capture of the everyday moments of life Julie.

Love this shot Julie, the way his jacket is a little big for him now, the folds in his trousers and the way he's placed his feet. A gentleman indeed and a classically beautiful image.
