A ripe old age

Nothing like being an unproductive member of society - a pensioner - to turn defence into offence. I have grown flowers and ornamentals all my life. However, the last veggie patch I had was when I was 13.

A half-century fallow should suffice. Accompanying this 'Russian Red tomato vine, are lettuce, zucchini, pumpkin, rhubarb, and strawberries.

Drool!

Oh! Julie I so love Russian-Red tomatoes - sliced and left to sit for a minute with a sprinkling of sea salt - delectable!
Your macro shots of the vines are superb.

When I'm watering my vegies, I often wonder how your container vegies are coming along.
Quite well, I see!

There's nothing like a tomato sanger sprinkled with salt 'n' pepper :-).

Great macros. Could be a bumper crop this year.

I wouldn't mind seeing some zucchini flowers. :)

MM: I'm trying to work on that 'seeing' thing with my eye - my brain actually. Really hard just at the moment.

Congrats farmer Julie. love the hairs on the tomato plant. I have had a bumper crop of snap peas/snow peas whatever.

Ooo ... now that would suit me too ... must work out how to string them up ... saw silverbeet and capsicums today which would be good too ...

I can smell that tomato plant smell right from here. Our vege patch didn't get planted again this year.

Summer was so cool here that my tomatoes didn't start to turn red until late October. Still picking red Romas even though winter is nipping at our heels.
