XPT Stop

Looking north from Wauchope railway station, on the mid-north coast of NSW. The bridge in the distance takes the track across the Hastings River. I stand to be corrected, but I think 'XPT' stands for Express Train. Which it wasn't!

It was travelling from Brisbane to Sydney. By the time it picked me up at Wauchope it was 15 minutes late. Instead of arriving at Central Station (Sydney) at 9:02pm, I arrived at 9:45pm. Harumpf ... ...

Looks like the train might be longer than the platform, hence the need for the sign?

Eh - that's not too bad.
You don't want to get spoilt!

XPT - not a literal shortening but like the Xplorer, the other CountryLink train, someone's brainstorm. Looks like you may be a 'gunzell' although you wouldn't have used the term north, you would have said 'Down' as all the lines heading away from Central are 'Down' lines.

Sounds a bit like the trains in Europe Julie, I don't think there was one that arrived when it was scheduled to, the joys haha!
