Fluffy water

A most enjoyable shoot over the weekend on the rocks down beside the 'Icebergs Club' at South Bondi, at the very beginning of the Bondi-Bronte Coastal Walk. The aim was to shoot at dusk on Tv, Low ISO with a shutter speed of half a second thereby achieving what is technically known as 'fluffy water'.

It must be good to go with friends and it sounds like you know what you're doing!! I've got lots to learn. Fluffy water...great term!

Nope, Diane, that is not Ann. Not certain her knee would take her out onto those rocks. I did not venture out! This is a new 'Meet-up' group which has some interesting projects. This coming weekend we are capturing the Chinese New Year parade.

Nailed it! and I thought rock fishing was dangerous.

Fabulous result Julie. Thanks for sharing both the pix and the know-how!

Nice effect, but the proximity to the water does look somewhat precarious! The things we do for a perfect shot!

No, not me. That particular group wouldn't let me join as they didn't like my profile photo/s. Your fluffy water worked well.

Never heard it called fluffy before. I have heard the term cotton candy...

I had no idea it was called fluffy water.

Well you succeeded. I have often wanted to do this with waterfalls but end up with blur not fluff.

Just wonderful... fluffy rocks! I did not know how this was achieved and appreciate the tip.

I left Paris in good shape for your trip in a few months, but I think that we are going to miss each other.

I really like the fluffy water effect. I must try it. Thanks for the settings.

I like both these shots Julie, did you have to get down so low to take your 'fluffy water' shot also? I remember when I took the pics at the Avon River Descent, when I went out on the rocks, came so close to disaster many times.

Grace: If I get down that low, I have immense trouble getting up again. I would not do it. Put too much stress on those people with me. Besides, I did not think I needed to. My brain is helpful like that, rationalises me out of strife.
