Such a contrast, the girl with the brolly standing straight and proper, with just her head bent as if in question; the other one lounging while waiting. She almost looks as though she could be whistling.
Two very different takes on the same theme. You're so good at these things.
I love the little blue building in the second photo, the kind of building I'd like to turn into a house.

With that title, I was almost expecting a bit of pole dancing. :P

Good capture of the every day little scenes - and perhaps one day a thing of the past if Clover gets her pedestrian boulevards.... sigh

I am quite attracted to Clover's ideas ...

Hah! Gladys & Bazza have just announced that the Monorail is to be pulled down. Excellent!

Now to have the block in front of the town hall made-over into a park (on the surface), remove traffic from George St (and make it into a pedestrian boulevard) and run a light rail down George to CQ, back up Elizabeth to Central. Halve the number of parking stations and parking spots in the city and double their hourly cost.

Then we would have a people's city.

Of course, the rain system would be overloaded and not work. And we would need to do something about the wall-to-wall buses down York.

... or even the RAIL system ... our rain system is working quite well at the moment.

Have they? Brilliant, must have a look at the news. Doubt we'll ever see a park and light rail at Town Hall but we can hope. I know this intersection well.

Girl with long legs and umbrella. I se you have rain on the brain. Nice people shots. Kay says it all. The new town plan sounds exciting. Do you think we'll ever see it in our days?

hacked, really? thats not good!

the girl with the boots could be dutch, although her hips should be broader.. :) but jeans and boots like that, all dutch college students seem to wear that!

Dutch have bicyclists' thighs ...

Yeah, the hacking thing on the portal must be causing them massive angst. You can follow any more info on the FB page.

to be clear - that was a *sigh* in a 'will it ever happen in my lifetime?' sort of sigh - (did you see my pic of the George St boulevard on A. Haiku?)

and wow - I learn that the monorail is finally getting taken down by tuning in to your site. very cool

To begin with, Dalloway, I though it was a sign against Clover. But when I thought about it, and what I know about you from your writings and from your posts, I knew how to take the sigh. S'okay ...

Today was a good day for the future of our city. The council and the government agreeing on something. Whoda thunk it!!

Oh I like the monorail. And as for doubling the cost of parking in the city ... it costs a fortune to park there already! Sydney without the buzz of traffic would be awful ... nothing to do but stand around useless traffice like poles.

Julie said...

Perhaps I should have put a warning specifically for you: do not read the comments!

Not all traffic would be banned: not bicycles, not skate boards, not motorised wheel chairs, neither rick-shaws nor green-shaws not horse-drawn carriages. And certainly not pedestrians.
