Style twins

Two examples of art-deco apartment blocks in the older inner-heart of the city.

Down the left, I give you the Claridge apartments on Flinders Street, Darlinghurst. On the right, I give you the Belgenny apartments on Bourke Street, Darlinghurst.

I like both of them, although I've never considered myself an art-deco fan.
Lovely photos, Julie.

Great architecture.

I prefer the smoother lines of the one on the left. But the detailing about the window looks rather interesting on the other one.

Classic Sydney, reminds me of Slessor's classic 'Darlinghurst Nights', i'm sure some of the gangster's floozies lived in exactly these places.

*grin* ... you have a wonderful imagination, Mark.

I have a floozie lined up for Taphophile Tragics at some stage. However, not only was she a floozie, but she was also the gangster!

Can't wait Julie.

Me neither Mark, I loooove that word 'floozie'! I am a great fan of art deco style and appreciate both buildings but I appreciate the softer curved lines of the building on the left slightly more.
