CDPB Portal - update

Our portal went off-line in the last week of June, and is still off-line. There are problems with the server and with hosting. Although these can be changed to new services, a new service requires massive rewriting and maintenance. Hence, it could be some time before the portal is back online. Or it could be tomorrow.

Eric Tenin has a Face Book page which CDPBers are most welcome to join. There are close to 200 of us who already are members of this page. I do encourage you to check it out. Each evening, I take the URL of my latest post, and copy it into the 'Write Something ...' section of the CDPB page in FB. It is not automatic, you have to do it yourself!!

Come over and join in for the duration.

To find the CDPB page, go into FB and type "City Daily Photo' into the search box at the very top of the FB screen.

The photographs on this post, whilst not applicable to the message, are of Coniston Beach and Flagstaff Head, Wollongong.

I love these shots, Julie - particularly the second one where the eye leads you to the beach and sea. How could one resist?

I tried the portal a few times and realised it's not working. Hadn't realised tho it now needs to be rebuilt. What a lot of work for the good people who look after it. And thankyou for creating this page.

I've never participated in the last two theme days but where does one read about this now? I looked on the Facebook page of City Daily Photo and didn't find it but perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place or perhaps, because the portal is down, it's on hold for the moment. If I happen to be in the middle of a series, I'm lately inclined not to participate but I do miss the Theme Days.

That is the type of landscape I like. The coastline and plenty of open space.
Beautiful images.
I wish I could take a stroll there just now.

Your winter skies look a bit like ours here in Perth Julie, there were actually children swimming down on the beach today, I seriously don't think they could be Aussie's even though the sky is blue it's still pretty chilly, but probably like an English summers day.
I'll have to try the facebook thing even though I'm such a technophobe I'll probably stuff it up somehow, I do miss having a wider look around.

Thanks for all your efforts Julie. Nice to see the blue sky and the beach. Almost looks good enough for a swim.

Yes, I realise that is an issue, but unsure how to solve it. I can run the Theme Day alternative again for August, but cannot run it every day, and I am not sure that members would want to self-load each and every day. Besides, with the time differences, we would all get very confused. I am just hoping that the portal will return.

I love the beach, even in winter. For me, it's a three hour car ride, so it's a rare enough treat any time. Thanks for the scoop on the portal.

I hope the portal returns ... I stay out of Facebook, it irritates me.

Lovely photo, Julie. And, thanks for the note about FaceBook. When I came back off holiday CDP was gone. I miss my sessions browsing through everyone's photos on CDP. It is a great little website enjoyed by many. Thanks for keeping us updated and super that Mr Tenin has provided us with an alternative. Cheers!
